ABout Us

Each year, there are thousands of homeless and lesser fortunate people in NYC who are left hungry and/or freezing on Thanksgiving Day. In order to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (Zero Hunger) form by United Nations General Assembly, and to spread joy through warm meals and supplies, Feeding The City was founded.

On Thanksgiving Day, we prepare fresh home-cooked meals and toiletries, and gather volunteers to deliver to local communities in the NYC metropolitan area. During our first year, we were able to provide 52 meals to the less fortunate and saw a rapid increase of at least 50% growth each year.

In 2019, with the help of corporate sponsors (Jamaica YMCA, Boys and Girls Club metro), local businesses (Salon161, Vibes Restaurant, Showing Hearts Foundation), volunteers and supporters across the country, we have a set goal of 50% increase on the total number of meals provided, making this year’s goal to provide at least 2,000 meals.

Your support is crucial in our efforts to expand our reach and help eradicate hunger. You can play a part in our goal by making a tax-deductible monetary donation to our Gofundme campaign.
